Now that you have used the website grader, you have probably found problems with your web site. Time to start fixing those problems and increasing your traffic! The next step I recommend is examining your meta tag data. You can use tools like the Submit Express Meta Tag Analyzer. This will show you if your meta tag data is set up correctly and giving you the highest search engine placement available in your market. Tips for meta tags…
- Title – Very important! Don’t use words that are not in your brand. Do not use words like “the”, “and”, “is”, etc. Do not use more than 80 characters.
- Description – Keep this to about 250 characters or less and again, don’t use words like “the”, “and”, “is”, etc.
- Keywords – This is probably the most important portion of your meta tag. Do not use more than 10 brand specific keywords. Using too many keywords will actually hurt your search engine results.
The Submit Express Meta Tag Analyzer will give you a score for each of your meta tag sections. Your title and description should return a 100% accurate result. Try getting your keyword score as high as possible by using the keywords described in your web site content as much as possible. Below the analysis you will see the keywords listed on your site and how many times they are listed. Use the keywords that are listed the most.

Thanks for the tip. I’ve used the website grader, but didn’t know of the webmaster search engine tool.
Time to clean up my page some. Cheers!
