In Memory of my Brother – Andrew Foreman Lee 1978-2009

In memory and dedication to my brother Andrew who passed away on July 15th, 2009, I have created a computer wallpaper for my family.

Be sure to download the correct size for the resolution of your computer.
Visit the resolution links and right mouse the image to save.
Once stored on your hard drive, simply right mouse the image and click “set as wallpaper”.

Clickable Twitter Backgrounds Are Here! Twitter Backgrounds

clickablenow-logo

Seems the good folks over at ClickableNow.com have come up with a new way to have working links on your Twitter background!! Yes, CLICKABLE LINKS!! Wonderful news!!!! But..theres a catch.

Any user must have the “ClickableNow” Add On installed for this to work. I installed the Firefox Add On myself as a test to see if and how it works. The setup was straight-forward, easy to do and only took about 10 mins. The add on is available for all browsers. I suspect this will take off as more and more Twitter users need and want clickable links on their backgrounds. Good news, you don’t have to edit your current background for this to work.

Here’s how to install…

1. Install the ClickableNow FireFox Add On

2. Visit ClickableNow.com and login to Twitter through the ClickableNow site.

3. Create the links you want on your background and save.

YES IT IS THIS EASY!

Enjoy! Peace be the journey…

TweetDeck update v0.26.4 / Blink 182 Background

It seems TweetDeck did an upgrade today! My TweetDeck Review.

Well there is good news and bad news!!! Here’s what I found…

THE GOOD NEWS

  • Groups Fixed  – Used to crash creating a new group, especially for high volume users
  • TweetShrink – Reduces the number of characters in a tweet
  • Upload a Photo – You can now upload your photos to TwitPic in TweetDeck (nice!)
  • Multiple Accounts – Post, follow, reply from multiple accounts easily
  • Popular – Shows whats popular in a particular column
  • Max Tweets – Max tweets per API has been increased from 100 to 200 max
  • Auto Complete – Auto completes usernames (dont care for this feature)
  • TweetDeck Recommends – Apparently TweetDeck now has a celebrity section
  • In Reply – “in reply to” has been fixed. It even opens a separate column now showing full convo

These are just a few of the immediate changes I noticed. Overall, I like what they have done. TweetDeck is constantly updating and staying on top of the game. Kudos to TweetDeck and a JOB WELL DONE! My only wish is that you add a Winamp controller in the bottom bar so I can control my music while tweeting without leaving the app!! If you feel real “froggy” add Blip interface or a “Foxy” tunes type controller to post songs.

THE BAD NEWS

Apparently TweetDeck has added some sponsor ads. I know, I know!!!  I am seeing hundreds of complaints about how a Blink 182 image is now their TweetDeck background and have no means of changing it. This is odd because I still have not seen the Blink 182 image on my TweetDeck after updating. Here is a screenshot…

tdblog

As you can see, no annoying Blink 182 ad.

I updated this morning and checked out the new features and instantly checked to see the the Groups were fixed and the “in reply to” was fixed. Thankfully they both were. I love the group feature because you can add a “Friends” group and follow all the tweets of your favorite tweeple. Then I started seeing the complaints about the Blink 182 and how it made things difficult to read.

So how to remove the Blink 182 ad?

The only reason I can think of is that I had a custom color scheme prior to the update. As you can see, I use a black border, a wonderfully nice green in the background and black text with white highlights. If you wish to use my TweetDeck color scheme it is: BG1: 000000  BG2: 6E9578  INPUT: CCCCCC  TXT1: 000000  TXT2: FFFFFF. If you used the default color scheme, you’re probably seeing the ad. I recommend to change your color scheme, hopefully resolving and removing the ad. I have also heard through Twitter that some are having success removing the ad by uninstalling and reinstalling TweetDeck. I recommend this as a last resort only!!!

Well that’s my .02!
